Horizontal multi-stage centrifugal pump maintenance

1. Clean around the pump.
2. Add calcium-based butter to the bearing. The rotor should be turned flexibly by hand without sticking.
3. Test-start the motor and check whether the motor rotation is consistent with the pump.
4. Open the air release valve at the outlet flange, pour water into the pump, or use a vacuum pump to divert water.
5. Close the gate valve and pressure gauge cock on the discharge pipe.
6. After the above work is completed, start the motor and open the pressure gauge cock.
7. When the pump rotates at normal speed and the pressure gauge displays the lowest pressure, open the vacuum gauge cock and gradually open the outlet gate valve until the required pressure is reached.
8. During operation, the bearing temperature of the pump shall not exceed the outside temperature by 35°C, and its limit temperature shall not exceed 75°C. Use a high-pressure gun to inject butter into the bearings every 500 hours of operation.
9. The normal degree of water leakage in the packing chamber or sealing chamber is preferably 30-60 drops per minute. The tightness of the packing gland or mechanical seal gland should be adjusted at any time.
10. Check the coupling regularly and pay attention to the temperature rise of the bearing.
11. When the pump stops, you should close the gate valve on the outlet pipeline and close the vacuum gauge cock; stop the motor, and then close the pressure gauge cock.
12. When abnormal noise is found during the rotation of the pump, it should be stopped immediately to check the cause.
13. In the cold winter season, if the water pump is to be stopped for a short period of time, the square screw on the water inlet section must be unscrewed. Drain the stored water to prevent the water pump from freezing and cracking.
14. After the pump has been used for a long time, if the flow pressure drops significantly, the water pump should be disassembled for inspection and its wearing parts should be replaced.
15. When the water pump is stopped for a long time, the water pump should be disassembled, the water in the pump parts should be wiped dry, rust removed, and anti-rust grease should be applied, and then reassembled and stored properly.
