Fuel supply adjustment method of diesel generator set and matters needing attention

During the operation of the diesel generator set, if the fuel supply is not adjusted properly, excessive fuel consumption will occur. In order to obtain the most economical fuel consumption rate, relevant personnel must promptly correct the fuel supply advance angle of the generator set during daily operations to ensure rated operating benefits.

How to adjust the fuel supply advance angle:
1. Remove the high-pressure oil pipe of the first cylinder of the fuel injection pump-speed governor assembly, and lock the handle on the speed governor at the rated fuel supply position of the diesel engine.
2. Turn the flywheel according to the running direction of the diesel engine, and observe the oil supply situation of the first cylinder of the fuel injection pump during the rotation. Stop rotating the crankshaft when it is found that the oil level of the first cylinder has just fluctuated.
3. If the fuel supply angle on the flywheel corresponding to the pointer on the flywheel housing does not match the fuel supply angle specified for this type of diesel engine, loosen the two locking screws on the fuel injection pump combination plate, and then rotate the crankshaft so that the pointer points to To ensure the angle within the specified range, tighten the two fixing screws.

Things to note when adjusting the fuel supply advance angle:
1. Before adjusting the fuel supply advance angle, the air inside the low-pressure oil chamber of the fuel injection pump must be eliminated. Otherwise, the adjusted fuel injection advance angle will have a certain error.
2. Before calibrating the fuel injection pump, it is best to mark the fuel injection pump coupling plate during disassembly. If there is no mark, first determine whether the first or last cylinder of the diesel engine is near the top dead center of the compression stroke during assembly. If it is not near the top dead center, you can use a flat-blade screwdriver to turn the diesel engine flywheel so that the first or last cylinder is near the top dead center of the compression stroke. Then remove the fuel injection pump side cover and turn the fuel injection pump drive shaft. If the first cylinder of the diesel engine is near the top dead center of the compression stroke, rotate the first cylinder of the fuel injection pump until it is close to the fuel supply, and stop rotating the fuel injection pump drive shaft; if the last cylinder of the diesel engine is near the top dead center of the compression stroke, just When the last cylinder of the fuel injection pump is rotated close to the fuel supply, stop rotating the fuel injection pump drive shaft. According to the above correspondence, after adjusting the fuel injection pump, assemble it to the diesel engine and tighten the two screws on the fuel injection pump coupling plate to start the diesel engine. If there is an abnormal metal knocking sound when the diesel engine is running, adjust the fuel supply advance angle according to the fuel supply advance angle adjustment method after the diesel engine is shut down until the fuel supply advance angle meets the angle specified in the instruction manual.
