Horizontal multistage centrifugal pump installation sequence

Jan 13, 2024

1. When the unit is delivered to the site, the motor is already installed on the one that comes with the base. There is no need to remove the water pump and motor when leveling the base.
2. Place the base on the foundation, place wedge-shaped horns near the anchor screws, and raise the base by 20 to 40 mm in preparation for filling with cement slurry after leveling.
3. Use a level to check the level of the base. After leveling, tighten the anchor nuts and fill the base with cement slurry. Check the level again after the cement dries.
4. When the power of the unit is large, the pump, motor and base may be packaged separately for the convenience of transportation. In this case, the user needs to install and calibrate the water pump unit by himself. The method is as follows:
a. Clean the dirt on the support plane of the base, the water pump feet, and the motor feet, and place the water pump and motor on the base.
b. Adjust the level of the pump shaft and tighten the nut appropriately after leveling to prevent movement.
c. Lift the motor to match the pump coupling with the motor coupling, then lower the motor to the corresponding position;
d. Adjust the gap between the two couplings to about 5mm, and correct whether the axis lines of the motor shaft and the pump shaft coincide. The method is to place a flat ruler on the coupling, and the outer circles of the two couplings are parallel to the flat ruler. , if they do not overlap, the relative position of the motor or pump should be adjusted, or a thin sheet should be used to adjust it;
e. In order to check the installation accuracy, use feeler gauges to measure the clearance between the two coupling planes at several different positions on the circumference of the coupling. The difference between the maximum and minimum clearances on the coupling plane must not exceed 0.3 mm. The difference between the upper and lower or left and right center lines of both ends shall not exceed 0.1 mm.
5. When the unit does not have a base, it needs to be installed directly on the foundation. The method is similar to 4, but more attention should be paid to correction.
