The diesel generator set is mostly used in the motor starting system, if the operation starts according to the starting steps of the internal combustion engine, there will be no rotation. Therefore, we need to learn to check and judge the fault that the diesel generator starting system does not rotate.
1. Check battery terminals, starting circuits, DC motor brush parts and electromagnetic switches.
2. Check whether the starting fuse is blown.
3. Check whether the connectors of the starting cable are secured. The connectors to be checked include: battery terminals, electromagnetic switch terminals, and start switch terminals.
4. Use the DC voltage setting of the multimeter to check the voltage drop of the battery before and during the start of the internal combustion engine. If the measured voltage before starting is less than 12.5V, it indicates that the battery is insufficient. If the measured voltage is greater than 12.5V, and the voltage drops above 1.5V at startup, it indicates that the battery is insufficient.
5. Check whether the startup circuit is faulty. The method of checking the starting circuit of the diesel generator set is to short-circuit the electromagnetic terminal and the switch terminal of the electromagnetic switch with a medium screwdriver. If the electromagnetic switch draws after a short circuit and the starter works normally, it indicates that the starting line other than the electromagnetic switch is faulty. If the electromagnetic switch still does not close after a short circuit, it indicates that the electromagnetic switch or the starter may have an internal open fault.
6. Short circuit the battery terminal and magnetic field terminal with a screw. If the starter works normally, it indicates that there is a fault inside the electromagnetic switch, the electromagnetic switch should be removed, and the burning condition of the active contacts and two static contacts inside the electromagnetic switch and whether the magnetic coil is burned. If the starter is still not running, and there is no spark in the short circuit, it indicates that there is a break fault inside the starter; If the spark appears, it indicates that there is a short circuit inside the starter, and the starter should be removed and repaired.
