Inspection of diesel generator set during operation

Mar 16, 2024

In this article, the generator manufacturer explains for you the inspections of diesel generator sets during operation.

1. When the diesel generator set is operating normally, the voltage should be around 400V, the current should not be greater than the rated current of the generator, the frequency should be around 50Hz, the water temperature and oil temperature of the diesel engine should not be greater than 95°C, and the oil pressure should be between 0.25-0.35MPa (increased The pressure of the diesel engine should be within the range of 0.3-0. 35MPa). When the unit is running, you should pay attention to their changes at any time. When it exceeds the specified value, part of the load should be removed or shut down for inspection.
2. Check each pipeline of the diesel engine at any time. If there is any leakage, repair it as soon as possible.
3. Observe the exhaust smoke color of the diesel engine. Under normal conditions when the diesel engine is operating at full load, the exhaust smoke color is allowed to be slightly bluish gray.
4. Do not allow water, oil or metal and other debris to enter the generator.
5. If there is an abnormality in the unit and the power needs to be cut off or stopped immediately, you can press the "Emergency Stop" button or pull the "Manual Stop" handle.
6. During use and operation, records must be kept, and relevant measurement readings, ambient temperature, operation and shutdown times, reasons for shutdown, and results of inspections or temporary repairs must be recorded frequently.
