Maintenance of diesel generator water tank.

Jun 14, 2024

Diesel generator water tank needs regular maintenance during use. Let's take a look at the maintenance methods of diesel generator water tank.

1. Cleaning of water radiator
The water radiator of diesel generator needs regular maintenance to ensure the heat exchange between coolant and air. Under normal circumstances, the appearance and interior of the water radiator should be cleaned every 500 hours or so of diesel generator working. To clean the internal scale and precipitated impurities, drain the water in the radiator first, and then use clean water with a certain pressure to pass into the radiator core until the water flowing out is clean.
2. Maintenance of water radiator
After the water radiator has been used for a period of time, if there is a leak, it can be repaired with solder. When individual pipes are severely damaged and cannot be repaired, it is allowed to block the pipes, but the number of blocked pipes cannot exceed three, otherwise the outlet water temperature of the diesel engine may exceed the allowable range.
3. Daily precautions
The pressure cap installed on the water inlet of the water radiator can increase the pressure of the system to a certain range, which not only increases the boiling point of the coolant, so that the system can work normally at a higher temperature and a certain altitude, but also improves the anti-cavitation ability of the diesel engine and water pump. There are steam valves and air valves in the pressure cap. When the positive pressure or negative pressure in the water radiator exceeds the specified value, the valve in the pressure cap will automatically open to achieve the purpose of steam discharge or air entry.

Multi Function Diesel Engine

When the diesel generator is working, the pressure cap should be closed to avoid hindering the normal operation of the cooling system. It is necessary to check the coolant level in the water radiator frequently and replenish it in time. If the level is too low, it will affect the cooling effect of the system and aggravate the cavitation of the diesel engine. At this time, it is necessary to add coolant to the water radiator, but be careful to prevent steam from hurting people.
