1. Start the diesel generator set by increasing the throttle
When starting, generally put the throttle in the idle position. If you slam the throttle before or during the start of the diesel generator set, it will cause a waste of fuel. In addition, excess diesel will wash the cylinder wall, causing the lubrication between the piston, piston ring and cylinder liner to deteriorate and aggravate wear; excess oil flowing into the oil pan will dilute the engine oil and reduce the lubrication effect; excessive diesel in the cylinder will not be completely burned and will form carbon deposits.
2. Forcefully start the diesel generator with a cold trailer
In the cold state, the viscosity of the engine oil is high. Forced trailer start will aggravate the wear between the moving parts of the diesel engine, thereby reducing the service life of the diesel engine.
3. Failure to change the engine oil and fuel according to the season
In cold weather, if the low-viscosity engine oil and fuel are not replaced in time, the generator will be difficult to start or cannot start at all. Even if the forced start is successful, it may cause immeasurable damage to the diesel generator.
4. Start without water or start with boiling water
If there is no cooling water after the diesel generator is started, the temperature of the cylinder assembly, cylinder head and engine body will rise sharply. At this time, adding cooling water will cause the hot cylinder liner, cylinder head and other important parts to burst or deform due to sudden cold. However, if boiling water of about 100°C is suddenly added to the cold engine body before starting, it will also cause the cylinder head, engine body and cylinder liner and other parts to crack. The water temperature should be added when it drops to 60-70°C.
5. Baking the oil pan with open flame
Breaking the oil pan with strong fire can easily cause partial deformation of the oil pan or deterioration of the oil in the oil pan. Therefore, the oil in the oil pan should be heated with a special heater (or steam). At the same time, the oil shaft should be slowly rotated to allow the oil to be evenly heated so that all parts are lubricated.
