Precautions for installation of horizontal multi-stage centrifugal pumps

Jan 16, 2024

1. The weight of the pipeline should not be borne on the pump during installation, otherwise the pump will be easily damaged;
2. The anchor bolts must be tightened during installation, and the pump should be inspected at regular intervals to prevent it from loosening, so as to avoid severe vibration when the pump is started and affect the performance of the pump;
3. Before installing the water pump, you should carefully check whether there are any hard objects (such as stones, iron sand, etc.) in the pump flow channel that may affect the operation of the water pump to avoid damaging the flow-passing parts during operation:
4. For the convenience of maintenance and safe use, a regulating valve should be installed on the inlet and outlet pipelines of the pump and a pressure gauge should be installed near the inlet and outlet of the pump. For high-lift pumps, in order to prevent water hammer, a regulating valve should also be installed in front of the outlet gate valve. A check valve is used to cope with accidents caused by loss of power such as sudden power outages, thereby ensuring that the water pump operates under optimal working conditions and extending the service life of the water pump;
5. When the pump is used in situations with a suction lift, it should be equipped with a bottom valve, and the inlet pipeline should not have too many bends, and there should be no water or air leakage to avoid affecting the suction performance of the pump;
6. In order to prevent impurities from entering the pump and blocking the flow path and affecting performance, a filter should be installed in front of the pump inlet;
7. Before installing the pipeline, rotate the rotor part of the water pump. There should be no friction or jamming. Otherwise, the pump should be disassembled to check the cause.
