1. Causes of diesel generator operation failure due to lack of cylinder
During the actual operation of the diesel generator set, there will often be a failure of a certain cylinder not working. The main factors leading to this failure are:
(1) When starting a diesel generator set under low-temperature conditions, some generator cylinders do not work due to idling speed at startup, but as the operating temperature increases, all cylinders gradually work normally;
(2) Mechanical failures such as piston ring breakage, cylinder pull, or loose valve seal occur in the cylinder of the diesel generator set, causing the cylinder compression pressure to fail to meet the requirements, causing the cylinder to not work;
(3) The fuel injector nozzle is clogged, causing the cylinder to not inject fuel and therefore not work;
(4) Failure of the fuel injection pump plunger and oil delivery valve causes abnormal or no oil supply to the cylinder, causing the cylinder to not work;
(5) Other comprehensive factors cause the cylinder to not work.
2. The hazards of diesel generator running without a cylinder:
(1) Because the cylinder is not working, the diesel generator works unstable and is prone to problems such as large vibrations. In severe cases, it may cause resonance, damage or reduce the service life of various components of the diesel generator.
(2) Lack of cylinder work can easily cause unbalanced force on the body and cause it to deform, thereby affecting the service life of the diesel generator.
