How to clean centrifugal pump parts?

May 10, 2024

Cleaning of centrifugal pump parts is an important part of repair work. Adopting correct cleaning methods to improve cleaning quality and reduce costs is one of the issues that repair workers consider.

Cleaning during centrifugal pump repair work includes mechanical external cleaning and internal parts cleaning.
Depending on the purpose, parts cleaning can be divided into cleaning before identification, cleaning before assembly, and cleaning before parts are plated or bonded.

In parts cleaning, the cleaning requirements for plated covers and bonded parts are high, and the cleaning quality is not high. It is often the cause of coating or bonding failure, and the cleaning quality of parts assembly has a great impact on the service life of the machine.

Here are some cleaning precautions for several parts of the centrifugal pump:
1) Scrape off the accumulated scale, rust, etc. on the inner and outer surfaces of the impeller, sealing rings, bearings, etc., then clean and blow clean with water or compressed air.
2) Clean the grease and rust accumulated on the joint surfaces of the centrifugal pump casing.
3) Clean the water seal pipe and check whether the pipe is smooth.
4) Clean the bearings and bearings to remove grease, then clean the oil ring and oil level gauge.
5) Parts and components that are not being assembled temporarily should be protected with oil after cleaning.

The basic principle of cleaning is that all cleaning methods should fully consider the following basic requirements:
1) Meet the requirements for the cleanliness of parts. During repair, various parts have different cleaning requirements. In assembly, the cleaning requirements for fitting parts are higher than those for non-fitting parts, dynamic fitting parts are higher than static fitting parts, and precision fitting parts are higher than non-precision fitting parts. For the surface of workpieces sprayed, plated and bonded, the cleaning requirements are very high. When cleaning, according to different requirements, different cleaning agents and cleaning methods are used to determine the required cleaning quality.
2) Prevent corrosion of centrifugal pump parts. No degree of corrosion is allowed on precision parts. When parts need to be parked for a period of time after cleaning, the anti-rust ability of the cleaning fluid or other anti-rust measures should be considered.
3) Ensure proper operation to prevent fire or poisoning the human body and environmental pollution.
4) Pay attention to economic benefits. Under the above conditions, the premise should be to improve work efficiency, reduce raw material costs, and reduce equipment costs to improve economic results.
