When the weather is hot, the following points should be paid attention to when the diesel generator set is used to ensure its normal operation and extend its service life:
I. Heat dissipation:
(1) High temperature will cause the operating temperature of the diesel generator set to be too high, which is prone to failure. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the heat dissipation problem.
(2) Measures such as adding radiators, increasing the heat dissipation area, and reducing the load can be taken to improve the heat dissipation of the diesel generator set.
(3) A thermometer is equipped in the machine room to check the ambient temperature in real-time to ensure that the normal operating ambient temperature of the generator set does not exceed 50°C.
II. Strengthen maintenance:
(1) Under high-temperature conditions, the various components of the diesel generator set are more likely to age and damage.
(2) Maintenance needs to be strengthened, such as regular inspection and cleaning of the unit, replacement of parts, etc.
(3) Regularly replace the air filter, oil filter, fuel filter, etc. to extend the service life of the unit effectively.
III. Operating conditions:
(1) The installation site needs to be well-ventilated, with a sufficient air inlet at the generator end and a good air outlet at the diesel engine end.
(2) The air outlet area should be at least 1.5 times larger than the water tank area to ensure good heat dissipation.
(3) The unit should not be operated in the sun or high-temperature environment to avoid the unit heating up too fast and causing failure.
IV. Usage requirements:
(1) Before starting, check whether the circulating cooling water in the water tank is sufficient. If insufficient, it should be replenished in time.
(2) After the unit has been running continuously for 5 hours, it is recommended to stop for half an hour to avoid overload operation.
(3) Clean the unit daily, including cleaning oil stains and "three filters" to avoid blockage caused by poor cleaning, which will affect the heat dissipation and fuel injection effect.
V. Lubrication and oil products:
(1) Use coolant, fuel, and engine oil products that meet the standards. In summer, use engine oil with high viscosity to reduce engine wear.
(2) Check the quality and quantity of lubricating oil regularly to ensure the lubrication effect.
VI. Safety protection:
(1) When selecting a diesel generator set, it is recommended to select a unit with automatic protection/four protection functions to improve the safety and reliability of the unit.
(2) Check the automatic protection device of the unit regularly to ensure its normal operation.
VII. Environmental requirements:
(1) Keep the area around the unit clean and avoid any corrosive items such as acid or alkali.
(2) Install fire extinguishing equipment just in case.
(3) By following the above precautions, the impact of high temperature on the diesel generator set can be effectively reduced, ensuring its stable operation and extending its service life.
