The use of coolant in diesel generator sets is not only used to solve the problems of poor cooling of diesel generators and excessive temperature of parts, but also can effectively avoid the occurrence of diesel generator set operation failures. At the same time, its anti-corrosion, anti-rust and anti-scaling effects also create the best operating environment for diesel generator sets. Therefore, it is very important to use the coolant of the unit correctly. Therefore, it is necessary for us, the diesel generator manufacturer, to talk to you about this topic. The specific content is as follows:
1: Ordinary water to prepare diesel generator set coolant
In the absence of antifreeze, the water used to prepare coolant can be rainwater, lake water, river water, and tap water. When using river water and lake water, it should be clarified to remove dust and silt in the water. For areas with tight water resources, if well water or groundwater is used, due to the high hardness of the water, the heating and boiling method (boiling the water to precipitate) and the alkali method (adding 0.67g of caustic soda per liter of water, stirring and precipitating) should be used for softening treatment to reduce the hardness of the water.
2: The antifreeze normally used in diesel generator sets is coolant
A mixture of water and ethylene glycol is used as the antifreeze for the diesel engine cooling system. Adjusting the mixing ratio of water and ethylene glycol can obtain antifreeze with different freezing points. For most climates, we recommend a 50:50 ratio of water and ethylene glycol. The acceptable concentration of ethylene glycol in antifreeze is preferably in the range of 40-60%. In general, the freezing point of the selected antifreeze should be about 10°C lower than the lowest temperature in the diesel engine use area. The freezing point of the antifreeze can be accurately checked with a refractometer, or it can be measured with a special test paper for determining the freezing point of the antifreeze.
3: Replacement of the water filter of the diesel generator set
The water filter has two functions: one is to contain a certain amount of DCA4 additives so that the coolant has a specified DCA4 additive concentration; the other is to transition impurities in the coolant. Therefore, it is recommended that the DCA4 water filter be replaced regularly.
