Diesel generator sets sometimes encounter situations where the coolant does not circulate during operation, which causes the unit to experience rapid rises in cylinder temperature and oil temperature, leading to sudden shutdowns, etc., affecting the safe use of the diesel generator set.
The reasons why the coolant does not circulate are as follows:
(1) The radiator fins of the diesel generator set are blocked or damaged. The cooling fan does not work or the radiator fins are clogged, which prevents the coolant temperature from lowering. The radiator fins are rusted, causing fluid leakage and poor circulation.
(2) The thermostat of the diesel generator set is faulty. A thermostat is installed in the engine combustion chamber to control the temperature of the engine combustion chamber. The thermostat is fully opened at the specified temperature (82 degrees) to facilitate small circulation. If there is no thermostat, the coolant cannot maintain the circulation temperature and may cause A low temperature alarm is generated.
(3) There is air mixed in the cooling system of the diesel generator set, causing the pipeline to be blocked. Damage to the suction valve and exhaust valve on the expansion tank will also directly affect the circulation. At this time, you should always check whether their pressure values comply with the regulations. Suction The pressure is 10kpa and the exhaust pressure is 40kpa. In addition, whether the exhaust pipeline is smooth is also an important factor affecting the circulation.
(4) The coolant level of the diesel generator set is too low or does not meet the regulations. If the liquid level is too low, it will directly cause the coolant temperature to rise and prevent the coolant from circulating. The coolant is 50% antifreeze + 50% softened water + DCA4 according to regulations. If it does not meet the regulations, it will cause the pipeline to be blocked and produce gas in the pipe wall. Rust prevents coolant from circulating properly.
(5) The water pump of the diesel generator set is faulty. Check whether the water pump works well. If it is found that the water pump transmission gear shaft is worn beyond the limit, it means that the pump is no longer working and needs to be replaced before the cycle can be normal.
