In daily use, most diesel generator sets are used in parallel to increase the load and automatically distribute the load capacity, which is a practical and economical method.
The condition for the parallel operation of diesel generator sets is that the instantaneous voltage, frequency and phase of the two sets are the same. Only when the voltage difference, frequency difference and phase angle difference between the generators do not exceed the allowable limit value can the generators operate synchronously in the power grid. Due to the different capacity of each generator set and the voltage regulation rate of each generator set, the active load or reactive load of the generator sets running in parallel will be unevenly distributed and cannot be operated with load.
1. Diesel generator overcurrent protection. When the user load exceeds the rated current of the generator set, a shutdown alarm will appear.
2. High temperature protection of diesel generator water. When the temperature of the generator set water tank reaches a certain temperature, a high water temperature warning is issued, and then the protection is shut down.
3. Low oil pressure protection of diesel generators. There are many forms of generators, but their working principles are all based on the law of electromagnetic induction and the law of electromagnetic force. Therefore, the general principle of its construction is: using appropriate magnetic and conductive materials to form magnetic circuits and circuits for mutual electromagnetic induction, thereby generating electromagnetic power and achieving the purpose of energy conversion. When the oil in the generator is insufficient or reaches the warning level, a low oil pressure alarm will be issued and the machine will shut down.
4. Diesel generator overload protection. When the user load exceeds the rated power of the generator set, an overload alarm will be issued and the machine will shut down.
When a diesel generator equipped with four protection devices is working, there will be no problems such as cylinder pulling and shaft seizure that often occur in ordinary diesel generators. Because the diesel engine of the diesel generator set will be partially scrapped in the severe case of cylinder pulling and shaft seizure.

Diesel generator parallel cabinet, also known as "generator set automatic control box", must be modified when two or more diesel generators jointly supply power to the load system or one or more diesel generators jointly supply power to the power grid system, so that the system software meets the requirements of the joint power supply system and the generator set can work normally.
