7 Major Precautions For Diesel Engine Fire Pump Maintenance

Apr 04, 2024

The following points must be paid attention to when maintaining diesel engine fire pumps:

1. Pay attention to the insulation of the diesel engine and water pump in cold seasons to prevent the diesel engine fire pump from freezing due to low water temperature. The applicable temperature should be kept above 5℃.

2. Before using the battery of the diesel engine fire pump for the first time, add enough battery fluid and then charge it.

3. Check the voltage of the diesel engine fire pump starting battery every day.

4. After the diesel engine fire pump has been running for a period of time, check the muffler and exhaust pipe to remove carbon deposits and prevent sparks.

5. After the diesel engine fire pump has been running for a period of time, check whether the packing seal of the water pump is worn, and replace it in time if necessary. Check the water pump for grease loss.

6. Regularly check the straightness of the unit, because foundation sinking, aging, bearing wear, thermal deformation, changes in building structure load, etc. may affect the straightness of the unit.

7. The fuel tank should be kept full as much as possible, but not less than 50% of the tank capacity. When refueling, make sure to remove moisture and impurities.
