General Fault Query Analysis Of Mobile Diesel Engine Water Pump.

Mobile pump trucks are mainly composed of diesel engines, self-priming pumps, control systems, mobile trailer chassis, rainproof boxes, pipe accessories, etc. They are mainly used in urban flood control and drainage, municipal drainage, flood prevention and rescue, farmland irrigation projects, mine water supply, fire protection and other fields.

When a mobile pump truck fails during work, it can be checked one by one through the following fault query guide.

I. Diesel engine part:

1. Unable to start the engine

Reason: Solution:

A) Insufficient battery charge

B) Poor control line contact/line break

C) Control module failure

D) Start relay failure

E) Start motor failure

F) Any start line failure

2. The engine is difficult to start or cannot start, and the exhaust pipe smokes

Reason: Solution:

A) The starter motor drives the engine speed too low

B) Fuel relay failure

C) Incorrect use of the cold start device

D) Fuel filter is blocked

E) There is air in the fuel system

F) The suction line is blocked

G) The intake system is blocked

H) There is water in the fuel

I) Use the wrong type or brand of fuel

J) The injection pump inlet and return pipe joints are loose

K) Fuel pump failure

L) Incorrect fuel supply timing

M) Incorrect valve timing

N) Exhaust pipe is blocked

A) See "Cannot start the engine"

B) Repair/replace the fuel relay

C) Check the user manual for how to operate the cold start system

D) Replace the fuel filter

F) Clean the pipeline

G) Clean the intake pipeline

H) Replace the fuel and install an oil-water separator

I) Replace the fuel and start the engine to determine

3. The engine is difficult to start or cannot start, and there is no smoke in the exhaust pipe

Reason: Solution:

A) No oil in the fuel tank

B) Shutdown solenoid failure

C) Fuel relay failure

D) No oil is sprayed out of the injector

E) The fuel pump suction pipe joint is loose

F) The fuel filter is blocked or the suction pipe is blocked

G) The intake or exhaust system is blocked

H) Fuel pump failure

I) Injector nozzle is blocked

A) Add fuel

B) Check the shutdown solenoid and replace if necessary

C) Repair/replace the fuel relay

D) Loosen the fuel injection pump pipe and start the engine at the same time to check for fuel overflow

E) Tighten all filter pipe joints between the fuel tank and the fuel pump

F) Replace the fuel filter and check whether the fuel hose is blocked

G) Check whether the intake and exhaust systems are blocked

H) Check/repair the fuel pump and replace if necessary

I) Check/clean or replace the injector

 

4. The engine can start but cannot keep running

Reason: Solution:

A) There is air in the fuel system

B) Fuel relay failure

C) Fuel system leaks or is blocked

D) Fuel filter is blocked

E) Using the wrong type or brand of fuel

F) There is water in the fuel

G) The intake system is blocked

A) Exhaust the air in the fuel

B) Repair/replace the fuel relay

C) Check the fuel line

D) Replace the fuel filter

E) Replace the fuel

F) Replace the fuel and install a water-fuel separator

G) Clean the intake line

 

5. Black smoke

Reason: Solution:

A) Intake/exhaust system blockage

B) Injector failure

C) Cold start system failure

D) Use the wrong type or brand of fuel

E) Exhaust pipe blockage

F) Incorrect valve clearance

G) Oil return pipe blockage

A) Check/exhaust the intake system for blockage

B) Check/adjust or replace the injector

C) Check the starting system

D) Replace the fuel

E) Check if the exhaust pipe is blocked and check if the size is correct

F) Adjust the valve clearance

G) Check if the oil return line is blocked

 

6. Blue or white smoke

Reason: Solution:

A) Use the wrong type of lubricant

B) Fault in the cooling start system

C) Too much engine lubricant

D) Wear of turbocharger seals and bearings

E) Use the wrong type or brand of fuel

F) The engine has reached the overhaul period

G) Cylinder head leaks

A) Replace the lubricant and filter/make sure the correct type of lubricant is used

B) Install a cold start device, check, repair, and replace if necessary

C) Check the lubricant level

D) Repair/replace the turbocharger

E) Replace the fuel

F) Overhaul the engine

G) Check the cylinder head and cylinder gasket, and replace if necessary

 

7. The engine cannot reach the rated speed

Reason: Solution:

A) The engine load is too large relative to the rated power

B) There is a problem with the tachometer

C) The oil suction pipe is blocked

D) The speed governor is faulty or improperly set

E) The maximum speed limit of the speed governor is set too low

F) There is water in the fuel

A) Reduce the load

B) Check with a handheld tachometer or a digital tachometer

C) Check whether the oil suction pipe is blocked and replace it if necessary

D) Check/adjust the speed governor

E) Check/adjust the speed governor

F) Replace the fuel and install an oil-water separator

 

8. The engine cannot be stopped

Reason: Solution:

A) Poor contact/circuit break

B) Controller stop button failure

C) Stop solenoid failure

D) Oil return pipe blocked

A) Eliminate any circuit break/poor contact failure, check the connector for oxidation, and clean if necessary

B) Replace/repair the controller stop button

C) Check/replace the stop solenoid

D) Check the oil return pipe for blockage, twisting or denting

 

 

 

9. Insufficient engine output power

Reason: Solution:

A) Excessive engine load relative to rated power

B) Insufficient power due to high altitude

C) Excessive ambient temperature

D) Fuel pipe blockage

E) Intake or exhaust system blockage

F) Air in the fuel and bubbles in the oil circuit

G) Blockage of the oil return line or poor ventilation of the fuel tank

H) Use of the wrong type or brand of fuel

I) Fuel injection pump failure

A) Reduce load

B) Engine power needs to be corrected when the altitude exceeds 1,000 meters

C) Engine power needs to be corrected when the temperature exceeds 40°C

D) Check whether the oil circuit is blocked

E) Check whether the intake and exhaust systems are blocked

F) Expel air from the fuel, tighten the oil pipe joints and filters

G) Check whether the oil return system is blocked

H) Replace the fuel

I) Check/replace the fuel injection pump

 

 

 

10. Lubricating oil pressure is too low

Reason: Solution:

A) Inappropriate lubricating oil level

B) Problem with lubricating oil pressure gauge/sensor

C) Incorrect lubricating oil brand

D) Dirty lubricating oil filter

A) Check for lubricating oil leakage. Add or drain lubricating oil.

B) Check the oil pressure gauge/sensor

C) Replace the oil and check the oil grade

D) Replace the oil filter

 

  

 

11. The coolant temperature is too high

Reason: Solution:

A) The coolant level is too low

B) The radiator is blocked or damaged

C) The radiator hose is sunken or blocked

D) The fan drive belt is loose

E) The lubricant level is not appropriate

F) There is a problem with the temperature gauge

G) The water temperature sensor is bad

H) The fan is damaged

I) The water channel is blocked

J) The water pump is faulty

K) Thermostat is faulty

A) Add coolant

B) Clean according to the instructions in the user manual and repair if necessary

C) Check the hose. Replace if necessary

D) Check the fan belt tension and tighten it

E) Add or drain the lubricant. Check the oil dipstick scale

F) Check/repair the temperature gauge. Replace if necessary

G) Check/replace water temperature sensor

H) Replace fan

I) Check and clean

J) Check/repair or replace water pump

K) Check/replace thermostat

 

  

12. Unstable engine operation

Reason: Solution:

A) Fuel pipe obstruction

B) Fuel pump failure

C) Dirty fuel filter

D) Improper governor setting

E) Fuel injector failure

F) Fuel tank ventilation obstruction

G) Air in the fuel system

H) Air filter obstruction

I) Incorrect valve clearance

J) Too much lubricating oil, or wrong lubricating oil type and brand

A) Check/replace fuel pipe

B) Check/repair fuel pump, replace if necessary

C) Replace fuel filter

D) Adjust/replace governor

E) Check/adjust or replace injector

F) Clean/install breather pipe

G) Expel air from fuel

H) Clean/replace air filter

I) Check/adjust valve clearance

J) Check/adjust oil quantity or replace lubricating oil 

  

 

13. Engine vibration

Reason: Solution:

A) Injector failure

B) Improper governor setting

C) Engine assembly failure

D) Injection pump failure

E) Flywheel housing and flywheel coaxiality do not meet requirements

A) Check/repair the injector. Or replace the injector

B) Adjust/replace the governor

C) Contact the authorized repair personnel

D) Ask the agent to repair the injection pump

E) Contact the agent
